April blog!

Hi friends and family! I hope you had a wonderful time with family celebrating Easter! I'm so thankful for the graciousness of our Lord's sacrifice, and for all the many ways he's been so gracious to me through the support from all of you, and the gift to do ministry!

                                                            2024-25 Denton corefa team!

These are all of our student small group leaders this year! They have been an awesome group, and have blessed our community so much! They sacrifice so much of their time in order to study the bible with their small group members one on one, plan their small group studies each week, come to leader meetings and our large group services, I know the Lord is honored by their willingness to serve this year!

Our campus pastor's team!

I am so blessed to work on a staff team of pastors who invest in me, and all of our students in our ministry so well! You give a lot in ministry, but you also get so much in return from seeing all that God does which keeps us all going!

Good Friday service!

DNC retreat!
We had our annual church retreat recently and it was such a blessing! Our denton church was planted specifically for our FOCUS students to have a church home throughout their college years. About half of our church is filled with our students, and many of them came to the retreat! It was such a blessing to have a restful weekend fellowshipping with our church members, and being spiritually filled. If you'd like to hear those sermons shared at retreat, or any of our sermons at our church, you can find them here: Audio — Denton North Church

Beth Marie's SICM fundraiser!

SICM (Student Institute of Campus Ministry) is a leadership conference that we take students to every year in Seattle, and Bellingham, Washington! We often hear that this trip is the jump start to people's faith in our ministry, and is a huge help to further depth in their relationship with God. They have many sessions each day over what discipleship and evangelism looks like, as well as leadership development! Kenady (in white) and Shaela (to my direct left), are the two who were invited to go on this trip from our small group. Beth Marie's is a popular ice cream shop in Denton, and they partner with different groups for fundraisers, where 30% of the proceeds from you and 5 others working for two hours will go to the person being fundraised which was Kenady! It was such a fun experience getting to help scoop ice cream for all of our friends who came from our ministry and from our church to support!

If you would like to support a student getting to go on a trip to SICM early May, please find more information here:

Thursday night core!
Cassy (behind me in white) and I lead small group together before going to our large group meetings, and it has been such a special time! This past week Heidy and Stephanie (at the very front on the left and in the middle) planned our topic for the week since they were our SICM invites this year, and have shown a lot of leadership potential! They took us through the topic of how we see the holy spirit moving in our lives, and it led to such a great discussion! This group of girls have been a blessing in my life!

UNT revival night!

This was a really neat experience that has never been put on before! Several of our different ministries on campus got together to plan a night of revival on the UNT campus. The really special thing about this event was that typically there aren't any opportunities for our ministry to combine with other ministries for events or anything, so this was such a neat time to be unified with tons of God's people on mission for him on the college campus! This was fully student led with students that led worship, had a prayer team, and people at different ministry booths if new people wanted to get involved. There was also an opportunity for anyone that wanted to make the decision to follow Jesus, to get baptized, and about 10 I believe were baptized in the UNT fountain that night! Praise God for new life, and the powerful ways that college students are being open to Jesus!
