June blog!
Hi friends and family! I hope you're having a wonderful and restful summer, as well as enjoying lots of time with family and loved ones! The summer is a bit more slowed down, and I'm grateful for more time to slow down and reflect on my thankfulness for those around me, and especially for each of you partnering with me!
Staff planning days!
We had two staff planning days a few weeks ago to start going over all the planning for our ministry this fall. This includes conversations over changes we wanna make in the ministry, what events we'll do for our welcome weeks (week long campus events that are put on for the new and returning students to learn about our ministry), things that worked well, and maybe didn't etc. It was really thoughtful that our director Ryan (very left) found fun coffee shops for us to meet in for these meetings to make the long planning days a bit more fun, and we got to grab dinner together, and visit different shops in Dallas to further bond as a team! One of our four new apprentices (interns, Hannah on the front right) got to join us as well to start getting to know our team! I'm so thankful for a team that is excited to be on mission for God's people and cares to grow close to one another as well!
Last roommate dinner!
I have lived with three of these girls for four years now, and I'm so thankful for our years together! Something I've loved about our community is how intentional our ministry homes become. We spent many times over the years praying together, hosting for many small groups and birthday parties, and just creating a communal space in general for people to come and fellowship and share all good and hard things in life with one another. What a huge blessing it has been, and I will miss them all so dearly!
Church prayer groups!
Last week our church wasn't able to meet since the building we use was getting repairs done. Our church staff got creative and came up with prayer groups for the city of Denton. We had prayer groups meeting in different areas of the city to pray over things like: culture, elected officials, and city issues, college students and faculty, children, families and neighborhoods, those in need, at risk, or unhoused. Hannah (in white tank top) and were asked to lead the group of prayer over college students and faculty at TWU with students from our ministry. We split up the group to walk around campus praying over a list of areas we are hopeful for this fall! I'll give the link to these prayer so you all also can be praying over them for our campus this fall!

Every summer from June-July we meet at Care Church in Richardson, TX on Thursday evenings to join with our ministry from all the different DFW college campuses (around 200-300 students) to have our large group gatherings! We have worship, a sermon, and fun activities afterward for students to have further fellowship with one another. I look forward to Summer Focus every year because it so special to me to see all of our ministry come together and be unified because during the school year we don't get to be with every campus, so I cherish getting to see so many familiar faces of those from other campuses!
I was asked to give a sermon at Summer Focus this year! Our sermon series topic this year is over "The Promises Of God" and the week I shared on was over the promise that "God who started a work in you will finish it to completion" and my reminder to the students was to be still and remember that God is at work in them. Even when it feels like we're stuck in different areas of our life that we have yet to grow in, God is transforming us in His image a little each day!
