Hi friends and family, happy July! I am so very thankful for all your support towards me in ministry!
Staff planning days!
Over the summer, our staff doesn’t meet weekly altogether like we do in the school year. Instead, we have two separate all day planning days to make a game plan for what the beginning of the school year will look like, and what our roles will be. This year, we’re starting some new things! I will be helping to lead a weekly class over seminary course lectures for our students that want to engage with scripture on a deeper level. I will also be working with another staff member on trying to minister to those in sororiry groups as a way to outreach in more spaces on campus. I will also be leading our black student ministry where hope that many will find community with focus at events catered to them! This has been a super successful way of outreach with our Hispanic ministry called “Mi Gente”. Please be praying for these new pockets on campus and all that God will do!
This is my roommate Cathryn! This will be our second year living together and our fourth year working on staff together! She has become like a sister to me. I love doing life and ministry alongside her, and she challenges me and helps me look more like Jesus in my own life and to our students. Having her and others on our staff team guide and direct me as I minister to our students has been invaluable and I am deeply thankful for them!
Juneteenth event!
Denton put on a gospel concert for Juneteenth and I went with some students of ours! I was so encouraged by our city hosting something like that, and putting Christ at the center of the holiday which is what its all about!
Callie graduation!
This past school year, I was able to be apart of a women’s small group in my church where I was able to get closer with several of the women at our church. Some of the women hosted a surprise party for our friend Callie (in the cap and gown) since she graduated from her online bachelors degree! I’m so glad we were able to celebrate her since she wouldn’t be a receiving a graduation. Callie and her husband Nathan have invested so much to their time even though they haven’t been apart of our church very long. Callie started a weekly prayer group where she guides people through how to ask God to encounter all areas of our life, and Nathan has given multiple sermons on in depth theological parts of scripture since he just got his degree in Biblical studies. The both of them are starting seminary at a college in Canada called Regent that we take classes from our first year on focus staff. I’m super glad they’ll be getting this opportunity and see what all God does for them, please pray for them!
Game night!

One of my closest friends that I’ve known since 8th grade got married two weeks ago! Victoria and her now husband Ayamae were heavily involved in our ministry and have loved on our students so well over the years. They point to the servant heartedness of Christ in all they do and how they choose to prioritize their time. I know God will use their marriage for His glory!
Fundraising update!
I am 66% of my goal for the school year! If you have any friends, or family that you think would appreciate hearing more about campus ministry, please feel free to pass this graphic along, or send their contact my way. I would love to share with them the ways that God is moving on our college campuses!
Student Testimony:
Thank you all so very much for your prayer and generosity towards myself and your investment in our Denton students!
Blessings & Peace,
Keanna Barber
